Lorraine started ballroom dancing aged 4, representing England from the age of 10. She and her partner went on to win many Championship awards. After retired from competing, she continued to demonstrate, judge and train, touring in the first live dancing show of its kind - "Burn the Floor".

Prior to the London 2012 Olympic bid, she worked with school children in Westminster to deliver ballroom dancing, as part of a City of Westminster initative to raise physical activity levels in the capital. Over two years she trained 3,000 young people in 12 different schools, culminating in a Festival of Dance featuring 150 of her students.

Since 2006, she has taught 8,000 children in schools' in the London Borough of Croydon and has developed numerous highly successful community events.

She is now a key member of the Essentially Dance team, and worked with Dale Bennett and Sue Cooper to develop the resources and deliver training.
